ArtesMiami donates campaign and buys books on Cuban-American women

Dr. Arnhilda Badia's new book on Cuban-American women, CUBAN-AMERICAN WOMEN: MAKING HISTORY, features biographies of 54 prominent Cuban exile and Cuban-American women in various fields, from entrepreneurship to the arts. ArtesMiami and the Cuban-Heritage Collection of the University of Miami sponsored the launch of the book on January 25th, 2024. More than 150 local leaders attended the cocktail reception and panel presentation, in which several women featured in the book discussed the publication and the status of Cuban-American women in Miami. Dr. Aida Levitan, president of ArtesMiami, is one of the women whose biography appears in the book. In addition, Gloria Estefan, Dr. Eneida Roldan, Miami Ballet director Lourdes Lopez, writer Uva de Aragon, advertising icon Daisy Exposito-Ulla, documentary producer and director Adriana Bosch and many other distinguished women are featured book. The Miami Herald and El Nuevo Herald reporter Sarah Moreno wrote articles about the launch event and the book, and the articles were published in English and Spanish on the front page of these newspapers. ArtesMiami also donated a publicity campaign to the author and is buying 30 books to distribute to young women who may be inspired by the stories of these leaders.
