October 14th Event - Mitchell Kaplan - Only 10 tickets are left!

September 13, 2016

On October 14th, 2016, Mitchell Kaplan will receive the ArtesMiami Lydia Cabrera Award, at a luncheon presented by U.S. Century Bank. Kaplan founded Books & Books in Coral Gables in 1982, a locally owned, independent bookstore that presents hundreds of authors in South Florida. He is also the co-founder of the Miami Book Fair International. The award honors an individual who has contributed significantly to the cultural development of South Florida. This is the first time that the prestigious award is presented to a non-Hispanic. The winner will receive $1000 in cash and a ceramics work of art by artist Rodrigo de la Luz.

PR Newswire also supports this event by distributing news releases in the U.S.

As in past years, the luncheon will attract more than 120 local business, media, government and cultural leaders to Fleming's Restaurant. The cost is $125 per person and $95 for Benefactors (contributors of $100 or more). ArtesMiami is a 501(c)3 organization and contributions are tax deductible.

Only 10 tickets are left so please contact info@artesmiami.org right away if you want to participate in the luncheon to honor Mitchell Kaplan.
